WHY FIX SOMETHING THAT IS NOT BROKEN & HAS SERVED US WELL?
What RC needs is to get its WEBSITE up & running. For that I am all for it. But the current forumboard does not need to be changed to accomodate the new website as it can be easily incorporated within the new website.
Once again do not confuse WEBSITE & FORUMBOARD.
Secondly, hosting may be cheap but BANDWIDTH is EXPENSIVE. Especially more so with a high traffic site like this which will quickly eat up its allocated monthly bandwidth from paid hosting services.
This award winning Proboards platform is absolutely FREE and is very stable. To date, Proboards is still the #1 forumboard in the world and is proven to be reliable and easy to use, and is well maintained by the Proboards Support team in the US.
PHP boards have their own inherent problems which many may not be aware of, being simply users and not administrators.
What RC really needs is to get the official website running, not repairing something which is chugging along well.
Please make an effort to understand the cons carefully before making a hasty decision to change. If possible list down all the things that you are not happy about proboards first so that it can be addressed and rectified accordingly. Also tell us how a PHP board will fix these problems (if any). Are the RC crew/members prepared to loose 2 years of compiled data from this forumboard when they migrate to a new board? How are they planning to ensure that all members migrate over?
Speaking from experience, being in the web biz for over 10 years, this is a foolhardy thing to do. Another recent migration for a fan club I mentioned earlier had dire consequences, as can be vouched by many, including some of RC's crew who are/were members there as well.
Please do not misunderstand. I am all for moving forward and applaud the urgency to get the a new website running for RC, but that does not require changing the forumboard. They are 2 separate entities which can be incorporated together.
Understand what RC really needs first before rushing out to do something that does not really need doing. Let's not make a mess of things just because we can.
Many have spoken of getting the official website running, but none has actually done anything about it, including those who were initially charged with the responsibility. I do not want to see this so called migration end up in the same way.
Hope everyone understands my concerns and thinks about it seriously.

I believe many of you are not really understanding what is being requested in this survey, basically because the question in itself is flawed and misleading.
This is not about loyalty to Faizal or the fan club, which I am sure everyone here is very loyal to the club & our Faizal. So please dont mistaken this survey for what it is not.
The simply fact is DO WE REALLY NEED TO CHANGE OUR FORUMBOARD in the first place? That in itself has never been discussed at the committee level as yet. And as such it should be first be deliberated appropriately before any action is taken.
Any decision taken by the committee members must be aboveboard and transparent and must be shared with all members of the fan club, and should not remain exclusive to certain individuals only.
I am highlighting this as it is my responsibility as Club Advisor (as the same with all other Advisors & Comm Members) to ensure that the fan club is run as smoothly as possible without any hinderance to its members and to ensure that we do not face any undue problems later on by making hasty decisions.

this is just a survey - using simple terms so that members can easily understand so i do not think it is misleading... klu tukar pun, itu yang kita perlukan - sokongan... but nothing has been finalized yet... technically it is still up to us (the advisors, admins, mods) to decide....
