Hey there Rockensteiners So which operating system are you using?? You may have one or more operating system(s) running on your computer ... Hehee macam zalfa, currently have my computer dual-booted - XP and Linux - but I'll be on Linux most of the time, heeee I really seriously in love with Linux !! Uhuhuh open-source punya product saper tak suka kan ... ;D ;D How bout you guys?? Do comment on those OSes ya? In terms of performances, security and all, whtever la yang you guys nak comment ok? My Computer skang nie ader Microsoft XP and Linux SuSe 9.3 ... uhuuhuu Linux SuSe latest version 10 banyak problem, such as C compiler (gcc) ader problem, nanti nak try Linux Ubuntu plak ... uhuuuh UBUNTU I'M COMING!!! ;D ;D Microsoft Windows XP - User-Friendly, Senang Guna, Interface sgt menarik, BUT selalu sangat kena attack dengan viruses! I really hate Windows! Linux - Anything yang bersangkut paut ngan Linux, adeh, me macam bercinta ngan Linux, mmg takder interface yang menarik, pakai banyak command, tapi selamat, jarang kena virus, sehingga ke hari nie, tak pernah lagi my Linux kena attack ngan viruses.

Pari pari, instead of using Microsoft Office, you can use OpenOffice, it's an open-source product and of course it's free, it is far more better than Microsoft Office, you can use it on Linux and Windows as well ... and you can directly convert your document to PDF format heee Yeah Linux Rocks!!

Linux aper you guna ek? Kalau ikutkan, for those who are using GNOME/KDE on SuSe 9.0 and above, it will detect your external drive and it will popup automatically on your desktop. ... tapi kekadang dier bengong gaks .. heee ... sometimes those devices cannot be detected and most probably you'll hafta mount the drive first, Cuba you mount kan dier. To mount your hard drive you need to use the 'mount' command: 1. Buka your console (Shell) 2. But before that you will have to login as root in order to perform the 'mount' command. [zalfa@linux:~> su - Password: linux:/home/zalfa #OK ke setakat nie? Hee OK kita sambung ek 3. Enter the following command to see if your computer has detected the USB drive you've plugged in linux:/home/zalfa # lsusb -> So kebiasaanya dia akan detect, it is just sama ada dia akan pop up atau tidak on your Desktop. -> From this command, you akan tgk list of all your USB devices, kalau you plugged in banyak, panjang la list nyer yer ... hee 4. Enter this command: linux:/home/zalfa # mkdir /mnt/usbdrive -> This command creates a directory in /mnt/usbdrive folder. Type command nie skali jer tau, only once, selagi korang tak delete this folder linux:/home/zalfa # dmesg | grep -i "SCSI device" -> nie dia akan list la semua SCSI devices, so you tgk la your USB tu ader kat maner, sda ker sda1 ker sda2 ker, atau untuk yg pakai SATA drive @ SCSI Drive, dier akan kuar sdb atau sdc . OK? 5. Continue with this command: It's time for us to mount the drive! linux:/home/zalfa # mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/usbdrive -> so command nie akan mounts the device at the /dev/sda1 location to the /mnt/usbdrive directory. So skang nie you bleh la refer your hard drive from the command line using the folder /mnt/usbdrive. Dapat ker? Hee nie command yg paling penting: linux:/home/zalfa # mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/usbdrive

Hee ada lagi satu, kalau you nak automount in the terminal (you nak your hard drive mount each time your computer is restarted, you kena edit your /etc/fstab file. Simply add: /dev/sda1 /mnt/usbdrive ext3 defaults 0 0kat your /etc/fstab file eh. Uhuhuhu mcm kelas la plak.
